Artisti e immagini in movimento

From the encounter between film techniques and the languages of art comes the exhibition Altri Quadri. Artisti e immagini in movimento, curated by Martina Melilli. A true cultural season organised by the institutions that deal with contemporary art in the area: MartCentro Santa ChiaraOriente Occidente  and Nuovo Cineforum Rovereto.

The appointments are conceived as a space for meeting and sharing during which the public can get to know and dialogue with the artists who will be present from time to time. During the aperitif, it will be possible to meet the curator, the organisers, the artists and to establish informal relations.

From the following day and until the following month's appointment, the films will be screened in the Museum's conference room, which is accessible free of charge.

Admission free of charge. For information: eventi@mart.tn.it

Silver Veiled 23' (2021)

Directed by Ginevra Panzetti and Enrico Ticconi

Silver Veiled is part of the research material developed in the choreographic diptych A E R E A | ARA! ARA!. Central to the short film is the use of the flag to design a score of unveilings, evoking a close and ancient brotherhood with another textile object, the shroud.

Ginevra Panzetti e Enrico Ticconi have been working together as an artistic duo since 2008 and are our associate artists for the two-year period 2022/2023. They were guests at the 42nd edition of the Festival with A E R E A e Silver Veiled.

Zeus Machine. L’Invincibile 74' (2019)

Directed by Zapruder

The film tells the story of Hercules in a new way through twelve vignettes. We meet the Greek hero at petrol stations and roundabouts, in sports halls, sculpture warehouses and at music festivals, and perceive him as a distant translation of himself: performances between bodies and machines re-enact clips from films with mythological settings related to his character as a playful analysis of legends and their narrative structures.

Scenario 19'05'' (2017)

Directed by Luca Veggetti

Conceived for the spaces of the Museum and in relation to a series of works from the Mart Collections, Scenario explores in a possible sequence the theme of combat as an archetypal choreographic model.

FOR A DANCE NEVER CHOREOGRAPHED 22’07’’ (2021)

Directed by Luca Veggetti

The film explores an imaginative dimension through the aesthetic observation of the effects of the Earth's rotation on a given place. The text at its centre, from Martha Graham's notes for a dance that has never been choreographed, serves - not without irony - as a counterweight to lift the imagination to the region of myth.

L'incanto 20' (2021)

Directed by Chiara Caterina. Produced by Chiara Caterina and Luca Mosso, 2021

The voices of five women fill the sound space of the film, weaving the threads of a plot: a woman reads the tarot cards; the survivor of the "Circeo Massacre", one of the most heinous episodes of kidnapping and violence in Italian crime history, answers a journalist's questions; a woman accused of the murder of four people is interrogated by the magistrates; a woman tells of her relationship with death, while another seeks an answer to violence in religious practice.

What has left since we left 20' (2020)

Directed by Giulio Squillacciotti, with Anna Brooks-Beckman, Janneke Remmers. Produced by Careof, Kingswood Films, with the support of the Italian Council and the Limburg Film Fonds, 2020, 20'

On 7 February 1992, the founding treaty of the European Union was signed in the Dutch city of Maastricht. Decades later, the representatives of the last three remaining countries in Europe meet again, in the same hall, this time to deliberate the final end of the Union. In what appears to be a group therapy session, the three characters - aided by a self-proclaimed British analyst - try to cope and deal with their sense of loss. The conversation allows their political and personal ties to intertwine metaphorically, forcing them to face their identity crisis and recognise what remains, what is no longer and what could still be their Union.
