If the Sea Ends. Multimedia Migrant Stories

Maria Angela Clemente, Francesca Simi

How is migration narrated? How has information about this phenomenon changed in the last 20 years? How can racism and xenophobia be countered?

Maria Angela Clemente and Francesca Simi, collaborators from Amref Health Africa – Italy, have developed useful tools for a new narrative that no longer considers migrants as passive and stereotyped subjects. They will share some video interviews that are part of a collection of stories, to explore the themes of self-narration and listening to others in order to overcome stereotypes and simplifications.

Maria Angela Clemente, master's degree in Sciences for Peace: international cooperation and conflict transformation, has been collaborating with Amref for three years as the coordinator of the program A Scuola con Amref and as a facilitator and local trainer.

Francesca Simi, psychologist active in the social sector, has been collaborating with Amref since 2020 as a coordinator and trainer in projects to raise awareness among citizens and services.

In collaboration with Amref Health Africa - Italy and Mart - Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto.
