The body, the movement. From a grammar to a poetics. From the relationship with space, with time, with weight to the relationship with the other. From stasis to dynamics. From animal to human.
Alessio Maria Romano conceived a workshop divided into three phases through which he wants to offer a glimpse into his pedagogical work on movement.
Thanks to a deep work on the body through the Laban/Bartenieff Analysis, the three “stops” along the journey aim to be an investigation on one's own movement, on the desire and the absence of the other, on one's own idea of dance and on the relationship between all these aspects.
The first two stops are designed for professionals whereas the last one is meant to be an encounter, an exchange and perhaps a transfer between professionals and non-professionals. The journey can be undertaken until its final destination or end at any intermediate station along the route of travel.
The rest is discovery and adventure.
It is not compulsory to attend every event and none of them is preparatory to the others.
At the end of the three stops journey, on Monday 9th May at 6.00 p.m., there will be a sharing open to the public.
The First Stop is addressed to professional dancers and vocational dance students.
It is required to send a resume: the choreographer reserves the right to select the participants.
The Second Stop is addressed to professional dancers and vocational dance students.

The Third Stop is open to professional dancers and actors as well as advanced students, but not only!
Bus stop also stops for amateurs, curious, enthusiasts who want to get involved, moving the body, choosing actions and dancing them. The study process will be an invitation to observe and participate, to know and discover through the encounter between professionals and non-professionals: a moment of sharing and search for meaning about what dance is in a time characterised by distance and discouragement.
For dance and theatre professionals and advanced students it is necessary to send the curriculum: the choreographer reserves the right to select the participants.
From Friday 11 February to Monday 14 February 2022 daily from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
From Friday 18 March to Monday 21 March 2022 daily from 10.00 to 13.00 and from 14.00 to 16.00
From Friday 6 May to Monday 9 May 2022 every day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

200 euros for a single stop
320 euros for two stops
450 euros for the whole course
Entry fee for amateurs: 80 euros
Write to info@orienteoccidente.it enclosing your CV and the registration form.
You will receive confirmation after about ten days and we will explain how you can proceed with the payment.

Workshops are only activated when a minimum number of participants is reached: hurry up and send your registration!
The registration fee will not be refunded in any case, except for health reasons or for cancellation of the activity due to the COVID-19 situation.
