Salvo Lombardo, born in 1986, is a performer, choreographer, and director. Casual Bystanders is the research project that has kept him engaged for over two years in creating a performance and two related visual and sound installations. He is drawn to the everyday gestures of passersby in various urban situations, the ambient sounds that accompany them, and a possible choreographic rewriting of this ‘simplicity.’ Postures, gestures, rhythmic movements, and snippets of conversations form the material on which the stage action is constructed, interpreted by Lucia Cammalleri and Daria Greco.
CID Cantieri, the project of the International Dance Center of Rovereto aimed at enhancing emerging Italian artists by offering them production residencies, financial support, and engagement with the public within the framework of Oriente Occidente, presents four promising authors at the 2016 Festival: the Friulian Tommaso Serratore, the Apulian Davide Valrosso, the Sicilian Salvo Lombardo, and the Sardinian Carla Rizzu.
